Caribbean Stud Poker Rules
Poker has many varieties that many players enjoy. The options are quite diverse as well as the skill and the concept of the game. One type of poker is the Caribbean stud. The object of the game is different than that of the regular poker. When playing Caribbean stud, a player is not competing against his opponents and he is not playing for the pot either.
In most betting games, the object revolve on beating the opponent; but with Caribbean stud, all players must beat the casino or the online poker site that stand as the bank or the dealer. In order for a player to win, he has to beat the dealer and other players' hands do not matter in this case.
Initially, all players should make an initial blind bet or an ante, and then five cards are dealt face down. The dealer is dealt with four down cards and one up card. AT this point each of the players should decide if he will fold or play based on their cards. If hey opt to fold, their initial blind bets will be lost; but if they wish to continue, the initial blind bet will be doubled.
In order for the dealer to play his hand, he needs to have an A-K or a higher card upon his reveal; if he doesn't, the players will be paid with even money on the initial blind and their additional bets will not go to waste. If the dealer is beaten by one of the players, the initial blind will be paid at an even amount. If the dealer beats the players, then both their bets will be lost.
The bet pay out odds are as follows:
One pair or a high card: 1/1 or even
Two pair: 2/1
Three of a kind: 3/1
Straight: 4/1
Flush: 5/1
Full house: 7/1
Four of a kind: 20/1
Straight flush: 50/1
Royal flush: 100/1
If in case both player and dealer have the same hand, the rest of the cards are analyzed. Five cards equal means the hand is invalid. The ante or the additional bets are not lost, and the suits don't affect the results either.
In Caribbean stud poker, the odds are very low, same with paid odds for additional bets; at a minimum 1/1. The game primarily relies on one's luck since there's no skill involved in playing. Remember that the odds are better when one is playing for the pot money.
